  • St Anthony's Teaching Alliance at the National Train To Teach Roadshow, Saturday 4 November

    Wed 01 Nov 2017

Yes that's right, St Anthony's is on the road again, on it's continuing quest to find the very best trainees for our 2018-19 School Direct PGCE!  Well, in point of fact, it's a roadshow, and though the name be different, the enthusiasm and passion of our able representatives will be the same as always as they welcome the crowds of attendees to our wonderful training alliance.

As with the recent Leeds Trinity PGCE Open Day, the roadshow event offers an exciting opportunity for those wanting to know more about the profession or just the course itself.  During the event, you will be able to:

    • receive personalised advice on your UCAS application – don’t forget to bring a copy of your personal statement with you
    • talk to practising teachers about life in the classroom
    • meet representatives from schools and universities that deliver teacher training in your region to find out about their courses and entry requirements

To attend the event, you will first need to complete a free registration.  To do this and to find out more about the event, please visit the Train to Teach website by clicking the link here.

And if you've already made your mind up, and don't need to attend the roadshow, great!  Just don't forget to post that application now that the UCAS portal is now open!

  • New Easy Guide to Applying to School Direct Added

    Mon 09 Oct 2017

As part of our striving to deliver the very best and most helpful website, we at St Anthony's have added a new section to our ITT training pages.  Now, when you visit our Application Process page:

    http://www.stanthonysteachingschool.co.uk/application-process/

you will see a new easy steps guide to the application process.

Although fairly basic, we hope that the guide will give a quick summary to those wishing to understand the process at one glance.  The guide is then followed by a more informative stage-by-stage explanation.

Also added, is an FAQ PDF provided by UCAS itself, that directly addresses those difficult and niggling questions that even the most experienced user can find themselves asking.  Of course if you can't find answers to you question in on this page, don't worry, our ever helpful Teaching School PA, Mr Andrew Bove, is always on hand to help you smoothly negotiate the UCAS process:

    a.bove@stanthonysleeds.org.uk.

So now the help is there and the opening of the application portal imminent, it only remains for us to wish you the very best of luck with your application!
