Keep up to date with all the latest news happening at the moment.
Once again, Leeds Trinity is holding one of its useful and informative open days. We will be there to meet and greet as well as hopefully adding to the wealth of information and advice you will receive concerning next year's School Direct PGCE course.
The event will take place on the Leeds Trinity Campus, Saturday 3 December (see their website for further information).
Please come and see us for a friendly word, expert guidance on the mystifying application process and possibly a sweet or two!
If you can't make the fair or would just like to know more about our course, please ring 0113 2776944 and ask to speak to either our Assistant Headteacher, Clair McFadden or our Teaching School's P.A. Andrew Bove. Both will be at the event and both will be available to take your queries about School Direct and hopefully inspire you to choose St Anthony's Teaching School to lead you on the first stage of your teaching career.
At last, the UCAS application Portal is open!
Initial Teacher Training Applicants will now be able to uploaded their completed applications to UCAS, who will then send them on to chosen training providers. Usually the process can take between 24 to 48 hours, although applications without references attached will not be shared until all references have been completed.
If you are considering applying for one of St Anthony's School Direct Primary PGCEs, you will need to enter one of the following course codes (dependent on which course you are considering).
2NZ3 - Primary General (5-11)
2NZ4 - Primary Early Years (3-7)
As always, if you have any difficulties with the process, please contact Andrew Bove, our Teaching School PA:
Good luck with your application!
The School Direct Application window is nearly open! To begin the application process, UCAS have released their search tool which can now be used to look for courses as well as for finding out further information about each provider.
To visit the search tool page, just click here.
To find out more about the St Anthony's School Direct PGCE programmes, just type 'St Anthony's Teaching School' into the 'search for Training Providers' field and it will bring up our name in red, click the name to turn it blue. You can then click the search button to visit our UCAS information pages. This should also give you the course codes for our two courses. However, if in doubt, the course codes are:
2NZ3 - Primary General (5-11)
2NZ4 - Primary Early Years (3-7)
The application portal will be open from next Tuesday, 18 October. Once you have uploaded your application along with your reference details, you need only to add one of the above course codes to ensure your application is sent to us for consideration.
As always, if there are any difficulties, please contact Andrew Bove, our Teaching School PA:
Best of luck searching!

Since the first wave of SLE recruitment in the Autumn, we have been busily sending our NLEs and SLEs into a number of different schools across the Yorkshire Region, offering advice, support and encouragement wherever it is needed. With ever more work anticipated over this academic year and the next, we are delighted to offer this further opportunity to become an SLE with St Anthony's Teaching School. We are particularly interested in recruiting Senior Leaders with experience of school support, and candidates who have specialisms in Phonics, Early Years and Maths, but applications from those with other areas of specialism are always welcome.
For further information and a copy of the application form, please visit our SLE pages or alternately, you can contact our Teaching School PA, Andrew Bove by emailing:

If you would like to register any interested applicants or groups onto NPML or NPQSL, then please contact Rachel Bostwick; Rachel.bostwick@carnegieleaders.org.uk Further details regarding assessment and scholarships will follow as soon as they have confirmation of the position of these from NCTL.
We received notification from the NCTL yesterday, that the regional limit for the number of teacher trainees recruited has been reached. Therefore we were instructed to close both our primary general and primary early years course. This has been effected on UCAS, meaning that we are sadly no longer able to recruit any trainees for the 2016-17 academic year.
Happily, we have been able to recruit 10 really outstanding candidates for both our courses, nearly triple the number that we recruited for this current academic year. This has been a huge team effort on everyone's part, with Clair McFadden our Assistant Headteacher ably taking the lead.
On Monday we received notification from the NCTL that current recruitment figures for the Yorkshire region had reached 75% of the maximum number allowed by the Council! When the same level for the HE sector was reached back in December, closure of local PGCE courses followed on swiftly and therefore we are expecting our School Direct course to close imminently.
We will continue to update the news section as we receive the figures from the NCTL and will make sure that full notification is given of the course closure.
